French Apple Tart





Ingredients:
  • Store-bought frozen puff pastry, defrost to room temperature 10-15 menit before using it.
  • Granny Smith Apples
  • Cold unsalted butter
  • Sugar
  • Ground cinnamon
  • 1 egg and 1 tablespoon of milk (for egg wash)
  • Appricot Jam for coating (optional)
  • Vanilla ice cream (optional)


STEP 1
Line your baking pan with parchment paper

STEP 2
Make your egg wash. Mix 1 egg and 1 tablespoon of milk/water

STEP 3.
Unfold the pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface, and roll it into a square with a rolling pin or into any kind of shape that you like. Be careful not to roll it too thin. 

STEP 4
Place your puff pastry in the fridge until your filling is ready. 
And preheat your oven to 180 degrees C

STEP 5
Slice your apple crosswise.


Arrange your apple slices on the pastry


STEP 6
Sprinkle with sugar and ground cinnamon. (sprinkle with more of sugar if you like your pastry 
to be sweet like i do)

And dot with butter


STEP 7
Brush the sides of your pastry with an egg wash.

STEP 8
Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until they're puffed and turn into golden brown.

STEP 9
Heat your apricot jam with 1 tablespoon of water in a microwave until smooth.

STEP 10
Brush it on top of your pastry

Serve it with scoop of vanilla ice cream.


Dust some confectioner's sugar if you want to.
